January 26, 2013

So I am trying to be better about blogging more often so I am going to blog about this weekend. Yesterday we had some freezing rain so school let out 4 hours early. It has mostly melted today so Maren and I did a Mommy-Daughter date at Marbles Kids Museum. We played in Moneypalooza and then did some wood working and then a craft with scrap fabric. Afterwards she did some foam painting and art. Then we checked out some other exhibits. I wanted to go to the IMAX so we ran over and watched The Flight of the Butterflies which was a fascinating documentary on the migration of monarch butterflies. It was pretty amazing. One day I'd like to go to the mountains in Mexico where millions of Monarchs go to hibernate for the winter. I think Maren liked it but she liked eating the Reese's Pieces better. ;) We went back to the museum part to play for a few more minutes as we had to meet Donnie and the rest for dinner at Lucky 32. Maren was always saying, "Thank you, Mommy" throughout our date. She would take my hand and hold it too. So fun and sweet. I really had a great time doing one-on-one stuff with her. I need to do it more often.
I also have more quotes I found. Maren (2-3 yrs ago): "My eyes are watering because I yawned. Or I felt the Holy Spirit too. I don't know." --while reading to Maren.
Caroline: "How old is your Dad? Is he older than Great Grandpa King?" D: "No". C: "Well they are really old, but not older than Nephi."
Not sure who said this (Caroline?), but they said, "Dad, I don't understand the words you are saying, but someday I will!"
Maren had a small, red heard sticker. She said it was baby brother's heart (Blake's). "Bump. Bump. Bump.". She said to name him "Don" or "Jack". 7/09
We went to McDonald's in January 2011. They forgot Caroline's fork for her pancakes. She said that they had a 100% score (sanitation grade on the wall) but that it should only be 99% because they forgot to give her a fork.
I also got a video of Blake jamming out to his musical toothbrush! This boy just kills me!! I love him to bits. Such a cutie! I could go on and on :)
